To maintain a place in my studio, payment is due at the first lesson of the month (monthly plan) and at the first lesson of September, December, March and June (quarterly plan), or you can pay at the time of the each lesson. Yes, there may be different number of Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, etc. from month to month but there are 52 weeks in a year and you will have 48 lessons during the year. I might have lessons when schools are not (or other way around); it may happen that you will have 3 lessons in one month and 5 in another but total will be 48 lessons per year. I will send you Piano Studio calendar in August. Please note: There will be no prorating of class fees or program credits.

Make up lessons – I will honor no more than one make up lesson per month.
Additional fees for lesson/theory books, sheet music, recitals, festivals, contests and tests will be charged when your child needs books or participates in an event.
Lessons cancelled due to the inclement weather or teacher’s unavailability will be made up at a time agreed upon by the teacher and student.
Lending library will be available for the students. The sheet music, books, CDs must be returned in good condition (no tears, permanent marks, wrinkles, etc.). If an item was returned in unacceptable shape or lost – student (parents) are liable for its cost.
Lessons termination by the teacher will occur in the event of irregular attendance, repeated failure to prepare assigned material, of disruptive behavior. A one-month trial period with parent notification will precede lesson termination.
Lessons termination by the student – A one-month advance notice and payment required.
Parent’s Responsibilities include strong support for the child’s musical growth. Show interest and enthusiasm for his/her musical accomplishments. Listen to 2-3 pieces (minimum!) each week as if they were performing in Carnegie Hall! Make sure the student has a good instrument that is kept in tune and is in working order. Good lighting, appropriate bench height (if the student’s feet cannot reach the floor, they should be supported with a stool), and uninterrupted practice is essential. Check the Practice Record book after each lesson to check notes/ reminders.
Student Responsibilities include regular practice according to the instructions written in the assignment notebook (minimum 5 days a week; 15-20 minutes per day for elementary students, 30+ minutes per day for intermediate students and 1 hour for advanced students), bringing all books and notebook to every lesson.
